About DJ TURMIXOriginal from Barcelona (Spain) and New York City based, the name says it all. Since 1989, he has been working with and developing original beats unknown to the masses. His ability to change styles without losing continuity is one of the unique characteristics of his sessions, showcasing his great skills on the turntables.A specialist and vinyl collector of Latin sounds & Boogaloo, his tastes also includes styles such as: Latin Roots & Boogaloo, Dancefloor Jazz, 60's Soul & 50's R'n'B, Raw Funk...Also Electronic rhythms like Nujazz, Broken beat & Funky Breaks with of afro, latin and brazilian influences. Turmix Dj sets for the dancefloor are a long journey through soul, funk, jazz & latin, mixed up with a groovy touch of electronic rhythms and breaks Since relocating from Barcelona to NYC November 2008, he has already played with well-known local DJs at some of city’s hippest nightspots such as Nublu, Joe’s Pub, Hiro BallRoom, Live Rose, Le Poisson Rouge, LQ, Camaradas, Latin Alternative Music Conference 2009, Midnight Summer Swing, Mundo Mondo Festival, Lo Mio NYC, Turntables on the Hudson, Highbar, closing parties for Jazz Lincoln Center, Cd releases parties for Fania Records and Concord Music Group, etc ...
